Abstract

O artigo tece considerações sobre experiência desenvolvida com professores de história e geografia da rede pública de ensino estadual paulista, em projeto intitulado Memória e História. O referido projeto teve uma trajetória que pode ser dividida em três etapas: a primeira, com início em 1989, voltado para o registro de bens de valores culturais na região de Bananal e Santo Antônio da Posse. Em seguida, foi desenvolvido em alguns bairros da capital e da Baixada Santista, envolvendo dezesseis escolas e aproximadamente 160 professores, destacando-se o trabalho realizado no bairro da Moóca sobre imigração italiana, registrado em vídeo. Finalmente, durante 1993, participaram do projeto, trezentos professores de 29 escolas das seguintes cidades do interior e da região metropolitana de São Paulo: Carapicuíba, Sorocaba, Porto Feliz, Votorantim, Itu, Piedade, Pilar do sul, Iperó, São Roque, Santana do Parnaíba, Barueri e Pirapora do Bom Jesus.
