This article presents the theoretical-methodological tool of dialogue groups and aims to reflect on the urgency of dialogic communicative and educational processes that go beyond the horizon of tolerance and promote transformative practices. We illustrate the possibilities and limitations of the methodology and the prospects for contributing to the construction of agendas to stimulate social and democratic participation, especially in the fight against disinformation. This reflection is the result of a process of revisiting concrete experiences of applying dialogue groups, within the framework of four research projects in the field of Science and Health Education, three national and one state, carried out between 2018 and 2023.
